Computer Skills
Part of this course is to make students aware of the potential dangers of today’s digital world. This includes discussing protecting themselves when using social media and highlighting the increasing risk of e-mail scams.
Our computer room provides a relaxed space for students to learn and practice techniques on a P.C. Our aim is to help students use a variety of programmes and to encourage this we suggest that they choose a topic and produce a project. They are supported with using Word, the Internet (for information and illustrations) and Publisher resulting in a finished document.
From this point, many students go on to write their own weekly diaries, short stories and communicate with friends and family by e-mail.
We also have specialised software for use by blind and visually impaired people.
